This online masterclass offers healthcare and social science professionals an in-depth introduction to the principles of person-centred care and its practice through shared decision-making. Responding to the global shift away from a purely biomedical model, the course highlights international advances while focusing on the challenges and opportunities for different healthcare contexts.
Delivered in two interactive sessions, the program combines Evidence-Based frameworks, policy insights, and clinical experiences. Participants will explore the conceptual foundations of person-centred care, practical tools for shared decision-making, and essential communication strategies, including risk communication and patient engagement skills.

Dr. Bravo is the director of patient education and involvement at the Fundación Arturo López Pérez, an OECI Cancer Center in Chile. She also leads the research group on patient involvement in cancer care, and is part of the accreditation board at the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI).
Prof. Bravo is an international leader in patient-centered care. As a core member of the International Network for Patient Centered Care (PCCNET), she has pioneered the establishment of an international network of researchers, educators, clinicians, patients and students from Latin America, Europe and beyond. PCCNET facilitates collaborations and knowledge exchange between network members from diverse countries, fostering research on the implementation of patient centered care.
She is the secretary of the International Shared Decision Making Society, and has served on the board for several years, representing the needs, views and experiences of the Latin American fellows. She is a recognised promoter of Shared Decision Making in Chile, and has supported the government in the adoption of SDM into clinical practice.
Dr. Perestelo-Pérez is Director of the Evaluation Unit of the Canary Islands Health Service (SESCS) and a Clinical Psychologist based in Tenerife, Spain. She leads the Person-Centred Care Research Group, coordinating national and international projects on health services evaluation, patient-reported outcomes, and shared decision-making. She is the Lead of the Canary Islands groups within both the Spanish National Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS) and the Spanish Network of Health Technology Assessment Agencies (RedETS). Co-founder of the Ibero-American Network for Shared Decision-Making in Health (REDES), she also lectures in postgraduate programs in health psychology and public health.
Her work focuses on developing and implementing evidence-based interventions that promote person-centred care and active patient participation, including the PyDeSalud.com web platform.

> If ISDMS cancels a course in which you have enrolled and fees have been paid, a full refund of fees will be approved. We will refund fees paid back to the card used at enrolment. Please allow up to three weeks for the refund to be processed.
